Neben dem aktuellen und wohl bekanntesten Concept-Car von MINI, dem MINI Superleggera, gibt es auch noch weitere, teils unbekannte, und ältere Modelle. Heute schauen wir uns den MINI ACV30 an.
Der aussergewähnliche MINI wurde 1997 entworfen zum Jubiläum eines Siegs von MINI an der Monte Carlo Rally. Daher auch das Renn-Design.
This was developed by Adrian van Hooydonk, my boss, and was his first Mini. The whole idea was to celebrate Mini’s rallying success – the car was made for the anniversary of the [Monte Carlo] win. It’s very dynamic, with four driving lights, and it introduced the idea of a ‘floating’ roof and bonnet stripes, too. There was a hugely positive reaction and the rest is history. Der MINI ACV30 hat einen Hinterachsen-Antrieb, was dem Go-Kart-Handling aber keinen Abbruch getan hat. Die Innenausstattung war aussergewöhnlich modern. Noch immer ist der MINI ACV30 ein beliebtes Konzept bei den MINI Designer und man lässt sich auch heute noch von dem älteren Modell inspirieren. Vielleicht steckt ja sogar ein bisschen ACV30 im Superleggera.
